Brad Williams releases the Williams Way: an Economic Plan to get Massachusetts moving again

Brad Williams

Massachusetts is facing serious and difficult challenges this election year, as evidenced by significant discontent on behalf of voters and by the refusal of most incumbents to debate and defend their records. I would like to take this opportunity to let the people of this district know what I believe, and how my ideas differ from those of the Democrats currently representing them. The two biggest challenges facing us today in Massachusetts are reversing the rapid expansion of state government over the last decade and transforming it into the creation of private sector jobs. The Williams Way covers three areas: an economic plan, state budget reform, and good government reforms. To illustrate how my plan differs from other recently elected officials, I have included the relevant roll calls.

Brad Williams challenges Mike Rush to sign the No New Taxes Pledge

Open Letter to Representative Michael F. Rush from State Senate Candidate Brad Williams

Dear Representative Rush,

As a current Commonwealth legislator, I am sure you have seen how the economic downturn has hurt Massachusetts families. Over the last four years, state government has raised taxes eight times, making it more difficult for households and small business to make ends meet. As a home and small business owner, I find these tax increases unacceptable and counter to economic growth. Consequently, I have taken Citizens for Limited Taxation’s No New Taxes Pledge. The Pledge mandates that I shall not vote for any new tax or tax increase when elected to the Massachusetts State Senate.

Brad Williams Calls for Five Debates with Mike Rush

Brad Williams

Dear Representative Rush,

Let me first congratulate you on your primary day victory on September 14th. As both of us know, there are two different and distinct parts of the campaign season. The primary election culminated the first component and now we enter an exciting and frantic final forty-five days.

I firmly believe that the foundation of the American political process is an informed electorate. We have a fundamental responsibility, as candidates for public office, to express clearly our beliefs and policy positions. By doing so, we ensure the outcome of the November 2nd election will be the product of knowledgeable and dedicated voters. I believe the best way to achieve this result is public debate between candidates.

Brad Williams Comments on Rep. Mike Rush's Lack of Accessibility

Brad Williams

Mike Walsh recently criticized Rep. Mike Rush’s lack of responsiveness. We contacted the other candidates in this race, Brad Williams and Mike Rush for their reaction. Brad Williams answered today:

Thanks for the chance to comment. I have lived in Representative Rush’s district for the last 15 years. Representative Rush has been in office for seven years, but it was only last December as he planned a state senate run that Representative Rush opened up a district office and set up a functional website for the community.
