Perry and Keating Call Each Other Liars
The debate was heated at times. An hour and 15 minutes into the debate an exchange between Perry and Keating devolved almost into a shouting match. Perry pulled from one of this jacket pockets a political mailing from the Democratic party saying that he favors cutting Social Security benefits and raising the retirement age, calling those statements “lies” targeted at scaring seniors into voting for Keating.

He’s already campaigning for the general election in this speech. His intensity shows exactly why he won the primary and why even in Democratic leaning Massachusetts that Perry comes into the race as the leader.
“The Democrats are going to be playing defense on this one.”
Whether you like Perry or not you have to see this to get a sense of what is coming. Bill Keating, the Democratic nominee, can be a pretty aggressive and passionate campaigner as well. It is going to be a very exciting race in the 10th district.

Cahill is Part of a National Pattern of Fake Spoiler Candidates
Last Friday Howie Carr ran a column asking Tim Cahill to abandon his race for Governor because he cannot win:
So Tim Cahill, let me be blunt. How can we miss you if you won’t go away?
Tim, exactly how much do-re-mi will it take to get you out of this fight? I’ve asked you this on the air, and you laughed, as if I were kidding. I wasn’t.
And Cahill answered in a letter that is just too shrill not to repost:
Howie, your latest column was confusing. You don’t want me in this race? Poor little Charlie Baker might not be able to win it on his own? Why do we bother having elections at all?
Let’s take a quick step into your fantasy world, just so we can give voters a clear picture of what you would like to see.

The Plymouth County GOP held a straw poll last night that gives us some insight into a number of Plymouth County Republican primaries.
Not a lot of surprises here, but except maybe how lopsided some of the results were. Results after the jump.

Perry and Malone come off as the clearest speakers. Perry is coming off of yet another attack piece in the Globe. Malone goes after Perry pretty hard on the strip search issue, and on some questionable speeding tickets he issued in 1987. Perry’s defense sounded a little nervous, and refuses to go after Malone on his own record as Treasurer, where one of his subordinates went to jail for theft and some unpaid small business taxes.
