We see some interesting patterns emerge. Bump is endorsed by a significant number of suburban progressive legislators. She’s got the endorsement of Massachusett’s most progressive congressman Barney Frank.
Her power base is definitely Eastern Massachusetts.
Surprisingly we don’t see some of Massachusetts most progressive legislators on her endorsement list, like Pat Jehlen and Sonia Chang-Diaz. Could it be that Mike Lake is drawing those endorsement? Lake has been involved in progressive politics for years, and was part of Chang-Diaz campaign so he may be owed allegiance by some of those on the far left of Massachusetts political spectrum.
We also don’t see a lot of the arch insiders in the legislature endorsing her. The patronage machine may yet endorse their candidate – Glodis.
Most impressive is that Bump has the endorsement of outgoing auditor DiNucci. More than anyone, he is in a position to know what it takes to be auditor.
