The Plymouth County GOP held a straw poll last night that gives us some insight into a number of Plymouth County Republican primaries.
Not a lot of surprises here, but except maybe how lopsided some of the results were. Results after the jump.

Rep. Robert J Nyman, who was running as the single Democratic candidate in this race was found dead in his pool June 26th.
This leaves the race with 2 Republican challengers, Welch and Valanzola.

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for State Representative in the 5th District of Plymouth County. I believe it is time for my generation to start carrying the torch and to work hard to see that government is responsive to you, the voters of this district.
You deserve a state representative who is energized to do the job, someone who will work a 12-hour day serving you and someone who will listen and respond to your concerns. I want to be that person.

Rep. Robert Nyman
Rhonda Nyman, wife of the late state Rep. Robert Nyman, will seek his House seat, according to the State House News Service.
Before Rep. Robert Nyman’s unexpected passing, the 5th Plymouth district was considered a safe Democratic seat.
Rep. Nyman was extremely popular in his district. No Democratic candidate wanted to challenge him, and the two Republican challengers, Jared Valenzola and Korey Welch seemed like only token opposition. They are both very young, inexperienced in politics, and not particularly well financed.

Rep. Robert Nyman
Rep. Robert Nyman was found dead at his home last night. The Globe is reporting:
Massachusetts State Representative Robert Nyman, 49, was found dead in a swimming pool at his Hanover home Friday night, authorities said.
Nyman had gone to a local golf course earlier in the day to participate in the planning of a charity event and returned home briefly and then went back to the course at approximately 1 p.m., according to a statement from the office of Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz.
It was not clear when he returned home again, but his family came home at about 8:30 p.m. and found him unresponsive in the family pool, according to the statement. The cause and circumstances of his death were not released.
