In 2008, Governor Patrick rolled out a new set of initiatives under the “Green Energy Plan” aimed to help establish Massachusetts as one of the leading states in investing in alternative, renewable energy. After reading through his energy goals and proposals, I took it upon myself to use the resources I had at my disposal, as Chief Assessor for the City of Attleboro, to try to come up with a similar type of program nearby. One of my main goals was to make sure we could construct this plant with no expense to the taxpayers.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Governor’s Green Energy Initiative and believe that alternative energy is a sound investment and the future of not only Massachusetts, but the United States as well.

State Representative Candidate, Stanley Nacewicz, proposed a new initiative that would essentially freeze property taxes for Senior Citizens who meet specific criteria.

The program, “Property Tax Freeze for Seniors”, would halt property tax hikes for Senior Citizens who meet both of the following criteria:

  1. He or she must be of the age 65 and over and
  2. Must have 15 years residency in the town for which they apply

PLAINVILLE- Democratic candidate for State Representative Stanley J. Nacewicz has issued a statement to the Ninth Norfolk District rebutting his opponent on the tax issue.

[The statement can be found in the Walpole Times @ http://www.wickedlocal.com/walpole/features/x353266851/Campaign-Trail-Norfolk-County-s-Ninth-House-District-Democrat-Stan-Nacewicz-is-full-of-out-of-the-box-ideas]

Nacewicz, a longtime Plainville resident and the current appointed Chief Tax Assessor for the City of Attleboro, MA is running against Norfolk corporate lawyer Daniel Winslow in the race for State Representative of the Ninth Norfolk District.

“My opponent has labeled my excise tax proposal as a mandated tax increase and it’s completely false. He’s obviously failed to see that 1) the plan is entirely an option for communities, 2) if the communities decide to implement the plan, the direct revenue generated would go directly back to the communities (unlike sales tax which goes back to the Commonwealth) and 3) the current excise tax system as it stands needs to be updated.”
