Candidates for Galluccio's Seat to Debate Thursday March 18th at CDCC

Cambridge Senior Center

All six of the announced Democratic candidates have accepted invitations to take part in the Cambridge Democratic City Committee’s Candidate’s Forum.  The candidates include (in alphabetical order):

The debate will take place Thursday, March 18th, at 7:00pm, at the Cambridge Senior Center, 805 Massachusetts Ave, across from City Hall. All are welcome to attend and to submit questions for the candidates.

The primary election for this seat, which has been vacant since the resignation of former Senator Anthony Galluccio this past January, will take place on Tuesday, April 13.

The Middlesex, Suffolk & Essex senate district, which previously to Sen. Galluccio’s tenure had been represented by Jarrett Barrios and former Senate President Tom Birmingham, extends from Brighton-Allston to south Saugus, including approximately one-third of Cambridge (wards 6, 7 and 8, plus parts of wards 3, 9 and 10) as well as Charleston, Chelsea, Everett, and parts of Revere and Somerville.

The forum will be filmed for broadcast on Cambridge Community Television.

This is one of two special elections on a short schedule. It’s a great early opportunity to take action on independent candidates.
